How useful is a production of culture perspective in understanding the birth of Rock and Roll?

Peterson's production of culture perspectives gives a good brief understanding to the birth of Rock n Roll, but does not create a clear structure or identify the reason for Rock n Roll. Many approaches have been suggested for example Peterson's 6 factors of the emergence of rock n roll, and the factor of  the artists themselves making rock n roll become what it is now. The emergence of rock n roll artist themselves creates a more realistic view of why rock n roll was born due to the result of baby boom.
Simply, perspectives in understanding the birth of rock n roll is not very useful for the fact it sets up the a wide frame work of understanding, which in hindsight could cover most genres. It does not cover many ideas which contribute to rock n rolls emergence, It fails to discuss why rock and roll was discovered in 1955 or the technology used withing rock n roll, it also fails to address rock n rolls audience. Therefore it is credible to suggest the 6 point structure fails to pin point the main contributions which gave birth to the rock n roll era 1955.

  1. You cover some interesting ground here but your language needs some clarification as some of the things you discuss seem rather contradictory. For instance, Peterson does discuss audience, it is just that he comes to the conclusion that the group most often associated with the popularity of RnR were too young to have spurred this popularity.
